Cabugao, Ilocos Sur (July 30, 2010) – One of the priority programs of the present administration is the delivery of potable water to end users at affordable cost.
The following information were gathered recently from Nestor B. Somera, Waterworks Superintendent 1 with regards to the status of the waterworks in compliance to Office Order No. 09 dated July 1, 2010 issued to him by Mayor Edgardo S. Cobangbang, Jr.
According to Engr. Somera, there were 58 new households connection from July 1 to August 9, 2010. The collection of water bills increased by P112,387.25 as of July 2010 compared to the same month last year (2009) and the number of delinquent consumers were reduced by 10%. The number of employees was decreased by 4 casuals but a better output came nonetheless. This was due to the improved working habits of the employees who are motivated to offer the appropriate quality level of service to the stakeholders, the consuming public.
Somera said that the distribution pipelines were already extended to Barangay Sagayaden, Marga-ay, Sitio Bessang of Barangay Pug-os, Sitio Baliw of Barangay Quezon and Sitio Lusong Suyo of Barangay Baclig. Other programs of the service utility are the installation of household connections, repair and maintenance of transmission/distribution pipelines and household service connection as well as cleaning and draining of intake/collector boxes of the reservoirs in Barangay Lipit.
“With the proper implementation of the plans and programs of Cabugao Waterworks, the consumers will be greatly benefited,” he said. # (Darwin P. Sumibcay)
