‘HABAGAT’ TO BRING RAINS, THUNDERSTORMS OVER PH ON SUNDAY

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the archipelago due to southwest monsoon or “habagat”, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

In its 3 a.m. forecast, PAGASA said the center of Tropical Depression "Kabayan" was estimated at 335 km west northwest of Aparri, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 55 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km per hour, moving west at 20 km per hour.

Meanwhile, another low-pressure area was estimated at 625 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

PAGASA warned the public against possible flash floods or landslides due to occasional heavy rains.

Light to strong winds will blow all over the country while coastal waters along all areas will be slight to moderate.

The minimum temperature for the day is 25°C while the maximum temperature is at 30.6°C, PAGASA said. # Source -  (PNA)
