41ST NATIONAL DISABILITY PREVENTION AND REHABILITATION WEEK
Over the years, the government had exerted efforts in uplifting the economic and social welfare of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in our country. On August 19, 2000, Proclamation No. 361 was issued declaring every third week of July as the “National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week” to raise awareness on the problems on disability, and encourage every citizen to take active responsibility in addressing these issues.
By understanding the needs and capabilities of PWDs, opportunities for PWDs will be created by citizens and the government thus, making PWDs more productive, self-reliant, and empowered to participate as active citizens contributing to the betterment of society and the development of the economy.
This year’s theme is “Lokal na Pamahalaan: Kabalikat sa Pagtupad ng Karapatan ng mga Taong May Kapansanan.” # Source- www.dilg.gov.ph
