E-LIBRARY LAUNCHED TO BENEFIT STUDENTS

The Provincial Government headed by Governor Ryan Luis Singson launches the first free electronic library in the province. Twenty new set of computers are given to the provincial library to benefit the students. This will aid them in gaining wider knowledge aside from what they learn in reading books. They can maximize the use of the e-library in doing their school projects and other research.

Also, the e-library can be utilized by all constituents who want to access information especially the jobseekers or those planning to start up a business.

Governor Ryan Singson recognizes the importance of technology and its contribution in the advancement of society. Through the highly technological facilities, there will be defined and effective communication and efficient delivery of services.

“We are now living in digital age. It is now time to upgrade our facilities and also the lives of our people. This service of the provincial government can help our students to make their dreams into reality.” Gov. Ryan added.

The building of the provincial library was also renovated last 2013. Rooms were installed with air condition unit and converted into a wider space to make it more conducive for learning.

“This e-library serves as a beautiful present to the students. This will lessen their time in making their requirements. This is also a god solution to those who are suffering from allowance shortage because e-library is free to all.” Mrs. Emma Claudio added, head of provincial library.

Meanwhile, the provincial government is planning to make the e-library open until 8:00 PM instead of until 5:00 PM. They also plan to hire two qualified librarians to fill the vacant positions in their office and to facilitate all the learners. # Source -  PIO Ilocos Sur/ #Mary-vick Addu.
