PNP CELEBRATES POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS MONTH

The 20th Police Community Relations Month formally kicked-off today in simple ceremonies at Camp Crame, Quezon City led by the Atty. Edmund R. Abesamis, National President, Liga ng Barangay sa Pilipinas as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Together with OIC, PNP Police Deputy Director Leonardo A Espina, Atty. Abesamis presented awards and recognition to deserving PNP offices, units, personnel and private individuals who have initiated “Best Practices” that promoted and strengthened police-community partnership and greatly contributed to the over-all peace and development initiatives to their respective areas of responsibility. 

This year’s Unit awardees are:
•La Union Police Provincial Office – Outstanding Police Provincial Office of the Year;
•General Santos City Police Office – Outstanding City Police Station of the Year;
•San Fernando City Police Office – Outstanding City Police Station of the Year; and
•Dueñas Municipal Police Station – Outstanding  Municipal Police Station of the Year.

The individual awardees are:
•Police Superintendent Julius C. Suriben – Chief of Police, San Fernando City Police Station, awarded as Outstanding Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) of the Year;
•Police Inspector Reden B. Valdez – Chief, Police Community Relations Section, Biñan City Police Office, awarded as Outstanding Junior PCO of the Year;
•SPO2 Ma. Cecilia Y. Tagala, PCR Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO), Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office, awarded as Outstanding Senior PNCO of the Year; and
•PO2 Ma. Danica Eve A. Camado, PCR/Tourist Police PNCO, San Pablo City Police Office, awarded as Outstanding Junior PNCO of the Year.

The Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) awardees are:
•Police Superintendent Jonas Pedro C. Escarcha, Assistant Chief, Community Affairs Division, DPCR awarded as Police Commissioned Officer of the Year;
•SPO2 Mardison H. Perie, Division PNCO, Community Affairs Division, DPCR awarded as Police Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year; and
•NUP Susan T. Tombaga, Planning Officer II/NUP Division Supevisor, DPCR awarded as Non Uniformed Personnel (NUP) of the Year.

As well, Special Award was given to Honorable Paulino Y. Emano, Municipal Mayor of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental in grateful appreciation of his invaluable and immeasurable support to the PNP particularly in providing assistance which enhanced the capacity and capability of Tagoloan Municipal Police Station and its personnel in maintaining peace and order in the Municipality.

This year’s observance of 20th PCR Month is being celebrated with the theme: “Matibay na Ugnayan ng Mamamayan at Pulisya, Simbolo ng Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran ng Sambayanan.”

The DPCR will also conduct different activities and seminars such as Gender Awareness and Sensitivity Training, Development Communications Net General Assembly for Government Agency, Seminar on Development, 5th Summit for High School Writers, Mobile Passport Processing, Advance Social Media and Citizen’s Media Training Workshop and others.

The month of July has been declared as Police Community Relations Month in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 764. # Adapted News -  (PNP-PIO)
