PNP SEALS GUNS TO PREVENTHOLIDAY FIRING

The Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted the annual sealing of firearms muzzle on Monday, Dec. 14 at the PNP regional office grounds here to prevent indiscriminate firing during the holiday revelries.

Chief Superintendent Ericson T. Velasquez, acting Ilocos police director, administered the ceremonial sealing of 350 firearms after the PNP's flag-raising rites.

"Today’s muzzle-taping is nationwide... it goes down to the regional, provincial offices down to the city and municipal police stations," Velazquez said.

Superintendent Marlon Paiste, PNP public information office chief, said no incidents of indiscriminate firing involving PNP personnel was recorded in two previous New Year revelries.  # Source - (MCA/Miriam P. Aquino/PIA1 La Union).
