DILG URGES LGUS TO COMPLY WITH E-READINESS SURVEY BY NOV. 9

In order to gauge the preparedness of cities and municipalities towards the Nationwide Streamlining of Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) enjoins all local government units (LGUs) to comply with the e-readiness survey on or before November 9, 2016.

The E-readiness survey aims to assess LGU preparedness to embrace Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Among the data gathered in the said survey are LGU profile, Human Resource (HR) capacity, and ICT environment.

The LGU profile includes basic information of the city or municipality such as region, province, income class, website, and name and term of the Mayor. It also includes number of business registrations according to the type of business as of December 31, 2015.

For the portion on HR capacity, the LGUs are asked to provide their number of HR personnel based on job status, office, position, and ICT-related trainings of said personnel.

The LGUs are also requested to provide information on the availability of hardware/computing device, operating systems, software applications, network facilities, security schemes, and ICT plan for the portion on ICT environment.

The said survey is a joint effort of the DILG, Department of Trade and Industry, and Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) in response to President Rodrigo Duterte’s mandate for faster business transactions across the country.

“The moment all the cities and municipalities have accomplished this e-readiness survey, we will be able to capture the overall picture of the country’s current preparedness status towards faster business processes and enhanced service delivery to their constituents,” said DILG Secretary Ismael D. Sueno.

LGUs may send their accomplished data capture online via http://ereadiness.southeastasia.cloudapp.azure.com. They may also submit the accomplished and signed questionnaire to the nearest DILG Provincial Office.
