The month of June of each year is declared as the Philippine Environment Month by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 237 signed in 1998 by then President Corazon C. Aquino.
The DENR’s Environmental Management Bureau is in charge of the celebration of both the Philippine Environment Month and the World Environment Day.
The local celebration of the World Environment Day with the theme, “Connecting People to Nature,” seeks to encourage people to go outdoors, appreciate the beauty and importance of nature, and take part in the call to protect Mother Earth. # Source – www.dilg.gov.ph
