September 16, 2016 to September 22, 2016 Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 588 issued on March 25, 2004, declaring September 16-22, 2004 and the year after as Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection Week. Cerebral Palsy is a non-progressive condition affecting the immature brain characterized by movement, balance, and postural problems. It is the most common disorder that affects children and adults in the world.
The Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection Week observance hopes to create an environment that will allow persons with cerebral palsy to enjoy productive lives.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Pagpapahalaga sa Abilidad at Dignidad ng Taong May Cerebral Palsy and with a sub-theme Moving Forward to Health, Wellness and Productivity of Persons with Cerebral Palsy,” which aims to promote an environment that will allow persons with cerebral palsy to enjoy productive lives through raising public awareness nationwide. # Source – www.dilg.gov.
