CABUGAO FIRE OLYMPICS ACTIVELY PARTICIPATED BY ALL BARANGAYS

On March 22, 2013 Barangay Fire Olympics was conducted by this station and it was held at Cabugao Institute ground, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur.  All barangays actively participated in all the events. This was the culminating activity of this station in celebration of Fire Prevention Month 2013.

The MFM said in his opening remarks, that this activity will not only enhance their knowledge and skills in firefighting and rescue operations but also promote camaraderie and in sustaining their neighboring barangays in times of emergency. He stresses also the role of Barangay officials and tanods when the BFP is responding in their respective barangays. Unity and oneness was one of his major objectives in conducting this Barangay Olympics.

The 33 barangays were clustered forming 16 teams having ten (10) members for each team. Barangays that are adjacent to each other formed a team. The contested events are; Hose throwing, Hose connection, Blitz attack, rescue and Tag War.  Barangay Turod patac, Bonifacio, Bato, Cuantacla excel in the all events and they got first prize, Brgy Pila, Caelayan, carusipan, got second prize, and Brgy Salapasap, Sisim and Pug-os garnered 3rd Prize.

The involvement of all Barangays in this activity was indeed a success, for we are now gearing towards their active participation in every endeavor that we shall undertake.
