DEPED REMINDS POLICIES ON THE CONDUCT OF END OF SCHOOL YEAR RITES

In observance of the austerity program of the government, the Department of Education (DepEd) restates certain policies prior to the conduct of graduation rites.

With the released DepEd Order No. 7 dated February 15, series of 2016, it states that graduation rites should be scheduled on or before April 1, 2016 for Grade 6 learners who will complete Elementary education and Grade 12 (high school) learners from Schools with approved K to 12 transition plan; schools with a permit to operate SHS starting in SY 2014 and International schools with K to 12 program.

DepEd reminds all Schools Division Superintendents (SDS), School heads and principals that graduation rites should be simple but meaningful affairs and should be conducted without excessive spending.

For the Grade 10 learners who will complete Junior High School, Moving Up or Closing Ceremonies shall be conducted in a very simple manner involving only the learners, their parents and the school. The learners shall be awarded with Junior High School Certificate.

The 2016 ceremonies shall focus on the theme. "Kabataang Mula sa K to 12, Tagapagdala ng Kaunlaran saBansang Pilipinas." DepEd is certain that the K to 12 Basic Education Program develops the skills and competencies of the youth for a positive human and community development.  # Source - Abigail A.
