PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT OF ILOCOS SUR SUPPORTS EARTH HOUR 2015

One of the biggest global environmental event, the Earth Hour was held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. Earth hour is an annual global campaign to show support for environmentally sustainable actions to combat climate change, spearheaded by the World Wide Fund Philippines (WWF-Phils.) In this connection, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur headed by Gov. Ryan Singson encouraged individuals, businesses, public and private sector to initiate changes to achieve a safer future. On that date, all were expected to show their support by switching off or dimming non-essential lights, including streetlights, signage and key monuments during the global “lights out” event for one hour.
