SENIOR CITIZEN ORGANIZATIONS TAPPED FOR COMMUNICATION PLAN DEVELOPMENT

“For Senior Citizens,
By Senior Citizens. This is the battle cry of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) as it actively involves the elderly community in the development of a communication plan for senior citizens.

As part of its initiatives to further strengthen its information drive, PhilHealth, through its Corporate Marketing Department, recently conducted a consultation meeting with representatives of various senior citizen organizations (SCOs) at its Head Office in Pasig City.

The meeting was aimed at closely collaborating with the elderly community in crafting a communication plan for senior citizens. PhilHealth deems it best to work together with representatives of the very recipient and audience of the communication plan – the senior citizens themselves – in order to get first-hand information on what works best for them.

During the activity, the SCO representatives did not show any sign of exhaustion nor restlessness as they actively responded to each and every question thrown their way.

Inputs gathered from this meeting shall be used in determining the most effective way possible to reach the senior citizens and to teach them the necessary information on PhilHealth’s programs and services. A pre-test will then be conducted across the country to ensure the success of the communication plan on a national scale.

PhilHealth President and CEO Alexander A. Padilla, assured the senior citizens of his support. “PhilHealth strongly recognizes the importance of taking care of our senior citizens who have reached this pinnacle in life. We wish to ensure that all our dear senior citizens are well-informed on the PhilHealth benefits they can avail of. We will need your expertise and support as we craft a communication plan for senior citizens, by senior citizens. Let us work hand-in-hand to attain the objectives of this project.” # Source - Margarette Lim, PHILHEALTH
