"NAIMBAG A BIGAT KADATAYO AMIN!

FIRST OF ALL, I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE FOR MY ABSENCE IN THE LAUNCHING PROGRAM OF THE 2011 SCOUTING MONTH OF THE CABUGAO DISTRICT. I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO JOIN ALL OF YOU HERE BUT PRIOR COMMITMENTS MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO JOIN YOU NOW.

TODAY, WE CELEBRATE THE SCOUTING MONTH. IT IS A TIME FOR US TO PUT INTO HEART WHAT WE MAY LEARN ESPECIALLY IN THE FIELD OF SCOUTING.

AS SCOUTS, WE ALWAYS SAY ‘LAGING HANDA’. WE SHOULD BE. WITH THE MANY POSSIBLE PROBLEMS ARISING IN OUR COMMUNITY, AS BOY SCOUTS, WE SHOULD BE EQUIPPED WITH THE RIGHT KNOWLEDGE AND THE RIGHT ATTITUDE TOWARDS PLANNING, IMPLEMENTING AND EVALUATING DIFFERENT SITUATIONS.

ONE BASIC EXAMPLE IS DURING CALAMITIES. AS BOY SCOUTS, WE MUST BE PREPARED TO EXTEND A HELPING HAND, IN WHATEVER MEANS WE CAN, TO OUR FELLOW MEN STRUCK BY DISASTER. YOU MAY ASK, WHAT CAN I DO IF I AM ONLY AN EIGHT YEAR OLD, NINE YEAR OLD KID? MANY I SUPPOSE. PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. WE COULD START BY HELPING IN CLEANING OUR SURROUNDINGS. WE RECENTLY SAW THE OUTBREAK OF DENGUE NOT ONLY IN OUR MUNICIPALITY BUT ALSO IN THE ENTIRE PROVINCE. THE SIMPLE ACT OF CLEANING OUR SURROUNDINGS COULD PREVENT A GROUP OF PEOPLE FROM INFECTING THE DISEASE. SIMPLE AS THAT.

IT IS OUR WAY OF BUILDING OUR COMMUNITY – BY ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN SIMPLE ACTS THAT WOULD HAVE GREATER AND BETTER CONSEQUENCES. SCOUTING BUILDS COMMUNITIES – THAT IS OUR THEME FOR THIS EVENT. TRULY, IT BUILDS A COMMUNITY WHERE ONE AFFECTS ANOTHER; WHERE ONE CAN CREATE A CHANGE FOR ANOTHER PERSON; WHERE ONE BECOMES A MEMBER OF THE WHOLE WHILE THE WHOLE GREATLY DEPENDS ON THE ONE.

I URGE THEN OUR SCOUT MASTERS AND ALL TEACHERS TO PROVIDE THE RIGHT KNOWLEDGE AND THE RIGHT ATTITUDE WHEREIN THESE BOY SCOUTS AND KAWAN MAY IMBUE SO THAT THEY MAY BE ABLE TO APPRECIATE MORE THE TRUE VALUE OF SCOUTING – ALWAYS PREPARED IN BUILDING A BETTER COMMUNITY.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND HAVE A PLEASANT DAY."
