President Benigno S. Aquino III issues Proclamation No. 242 for National Teachers' Month. Upon the request of DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro and Metrobank Foundation President Aniceto M. Sobrepeña, co-chairs of the Teachers' Month Campaign (TMC) Steering Committee, President Aquino has issued Proclamation No. 242 declaring the period September 5 to October 5 of every year as National Teachers' Month.

The 2011 TMC was launched during the awarding of the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos last 5 September 2011 at Metrobank. Other TMC partners are also spearheading activities for teachers and other companies are planning to give treats for teachers.
Partners like Synergeia, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Museo Pambat
a, Smart Communications have also organized "This One's For You" A Community-Walk to Honor Our Teachers on October 1 at the CCP Grounds. Activities start at 1:00 P.M. and the fun walk will be at 4:30 P.M. Everyone is encouraged to join this Community Walk.
A National Prayer for Teachers will also be prayed at 10:05 a.m. on 5 October 2011, World Teachers' Day.
The TMC Steering Committee hopes your organization could find time to thank your teachers/former teachers in any way you can, like sending them letters/cards, treating them to dinner/lunch, visiting them at home/the hospital, sending them flowers, texting them, treating them for massage/haircut, giving them gifts, and the like. # Source – League of Corporate Foundations
