GOV. RYAN DISTRIBUTES HYBRID RICE TO FARMERS

THE Provincial Government headed by Gov. Ryan Singson dispenses 25,000 bags of hybrid rice to Ilocos Sur farmers.  The Ryan Hybrid Rice Assistance Program is a project of the Provincial Government and Department of Agriculture to produce quality rice to attain rice self-sufficiency in the province.

“Our goal is to make the province self-sufficient on rice, to lessen the expenses of farmers, increase the production and to uplift the lives of our farmers” says Gov. Ryan Singson. The seeds are imported from Vietnam. These can adapt in all types of soil as long as it has enough source of water. It was in the year 2014 when the provincial agriculture office through experiment, proved that Ryan Hybrid Rice produce more harvest than the ordinary seeds.  “Based from the results, the production has increased. Ryan Hybrid Rice bears more fruits compared to the ordinary seeds” Provincial Agriculture, Mr. Constante Botacion confirms. A total of twenty seven thousand farmers from different municipalities will receive bags of hybrid rice seeds. The first tranche has already rolled out.
