BUREAU OF IMMIGRATION OPENS SATELLITE OFFICE IN VIGAN

The Bureau of Immigration formally opened its annex office in Vigan City on September 18, 2015 as Commissioner Siegfred B. Mison and Governor Ryan V. Singson inaugurated the newly renovated space in the Provincial Capitol.

The agency’s pilot operation was held at Vigan City Convention Center on the same day where hundreds of foreign nationals flocked and availed the services such as renewal of student visa.

The provincial government offered for free the vacant space in the Provincial Capitol to serve as the new BI office.

“The office is now accessible to the foreign nationals in Vigan City and in nearby provinces, in this way we can help them lessen their burden in processing their needed requirements to stay in our country” Gov. Ryan Singson said.

Commissioner Siegfred B. Mison sees the need of putting up a satellite office to cater the increasing number of foreign investors and foreign students in the province.

The agency services include processing of application and renewal of foreign student visa, alien registration, provisional and special work permit, application for retention and re-acquisition of Filipino Citizenship and others. They will be conducting forum and information dissemination in schools and to different sectors.

While they are expanding their services beyond the metro, the BI also provides job opportunities. They are hiring 200 highly competitive immigration officers with patriotism, integrity and professionalism to carry out their mandate.

The government of Ilocos Sur is grateful for having another branch of national agency in the province. This is an additional asset in making the Ilocos Sur a progressive place. # Source – PIO llocos Sur/Mary-vickAddu
