Pursuant to Proclamation No. 260 the Barangay Assembly Day for the Second Semester of CY 2015 was scheduled last October 11, 2015.
Pursuant to Sections 397 (a) of the Local Government Code, a Barangay Assembly is composed of all persons who are actual residents of the Barangay for at least six (6) months, fifteen (15) years of age or over, citizens of the Philippines, and duly registered in the list of Barangay assembly members.
Relative to Section 397 (b) every barangay is enjoined to undertake he ff activities:
1.Deliver the State of Barangay Address (SOBA), with emphasis on:
(a) CY 2015 First Semester Accomplishments;
(b) CY 2015 First Semester Financial Report to include, among others, the Itemized Monthly Collections and Disbursements and the Summary of Income and Expenditures; and
(c) Updates on CY 2015 on-going programs and projects
1.Discuss barangay compliance to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2014-81 dated June 15, 2014.
2.Discuss barangay compliance to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2015-63 dated June 16, 2015
3.Advocate the “Listanayan” Project with the theme “Nasa’yo ang Papel. Ikaw naman ang Pumapel” to increase awareness on mandatory Biometrics Voter Registration as provided for in DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2015-89 dated August 12, 2015.
4.Discuss issues or concerns affecting the barangay, such as but not limited to;
(a) Disaster Preparedness
(b) Solid Waste Management ;
(c) Monitoring and strict enforcement of the laws against human trafficking at the barangay level; and
(d) Monitoring and strict enforcement of existing laws/ordinances on stray animals
1.Invite members of faith-based organizations within the barangay to attend in the assembly to discuss/explore programs, projects and activities to curb corruption and promote transparent, honest and effective governance in the Local Government Units (LGUs). # Source: DILG MC No. 2015-116
