The Department Of Education Regional Office I (Deped-Ro1) eyes School-Local Government Unit (LGU) partnership to guarantee the successful implementation of the Senior High School (SHS) Program in School Year (SY) 2016-2017.
This is in line with the mandate of the DepEd, to formulate policies and programs in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education; supervise all elementary and secondary education institutions, including alternative learning systems, both public and private; and to provide for the maintenance of a complete, adequate, and integrated system of basic education relevant to the goals of national development.
To boost the undertaking, the central office prepared a sample of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Teacher Training Partnership (TTP). The MOA will be between the Schools and LGU’s (Barangay, Municipality, City and Province). It provides for the individual and joint responsibilities of the parties.
Included in their obligations are to develop teacher training modules, specifying goals and objective, desired outcomes of the program and how these outcomes will be achieved. It also underscores the specific knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies that the teacher trainee should acquire after completing the program.
The MOA also emphasized the objectives of the K to 12 in ensuring graduates of basic education ready for higher education, employment, entrepreneurship and middle skills development.
The TTP is important in the success of the SHS as the teachers have to undergo training in a business organization or establishment whose work requirements are related to their field of specialization. The training will also familiarize the teachers with work-related environment making them more competent in cascading knowledge and skills to the students. # Source – depedro1.com.ph
